Sometimes, the simplest designs are the ones that are the hardest to create, having to rework and revise over and over until the desired effect comes to light. Designed in Antwerp, Belgium, the Spindle collection found its inspiration in the traditional spinning wheel and incorporates perfectly aligned round spokes into the back allowing light to come through. At first glance, it is simply a bench, but on further inspection the complex design of this decorative object reveals itself. The legs are thin and slightly tapered, with outside edges that have been rounded (fewer sharp angles means fewer opportunities to stub your toes!). The same rounded shape is mimicked where the legs meet the apron, creating an elegantly shaped seat. It is crafted out of solid white oak, chosen for its unique grain pattern and light color.
